Hampton Auto Glass began in 1989 with Jan, his family, and a commitment to taking care of people. Today, his son Jon carries that commitment forward alongside a team serving neighbors throughout Clark County.

 

A note from Jon

I was eight years old when my dad opened Hampton Auto Glass. Back then, I couldn’t have imagined that the shop where I spent my summers helping out would one day bring me back home.

 

I grew up in La Center, Washington, playing sports and spending time around the family business. My mom worked in the office and kept the books. My dad worked in the shop and managed the employees. They both wore a lot of hats, but what stayed with me most was how they treated people.

 

They took time for their customers. They cared about the work. And they taught me that the relationships you build deserve just as much attention as the job in front of you.

 

After high school, I worked at Hampton for a while before finding my own path. That eventually led me to Costco’s corporate office in Issaquah. I loved working there and felt I had found my place.

 

Then my dad started thinking about retirement, and I had a decision to make.

 

Leaving a career I enjoyed to return to Vancouver and take over the family business took a lot of thought. But looking back, it was the best decision I could have made.

 

Coming home gave me the opportunity to build on what my parents started, provide jobs for an amazing team, and become more involved in the community that helped raise me. There’s something special about serving people in a place where you have so much shared history.

 

Giving back to the place that raised us

Having grown up playing local sports, I know how much those opportunities can mean to a kid. Today, being able to support teams, nonprofits, and community events through Hampton is one of the parts of this business I value most.

 

We help where we can, as often as we have the capacity. We enjoy showing up, being involved, and contributing to the community our families, employees, and customers call home.

It reflects what my parents taught me and what I hope people experience when they get to know us: people who listen, care about their work, and appreciate the trust placed in them.

 

A name with a story of its own

Hampton was the name of a street where my dad grew up. That connection to his childhood became the name of the business I grew up around—and eventually came home to lead.
